CaseEdge ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, target role, target firm, and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication).
Usage Data: We track which questions you've opened, mastered, and bookmarked to power your progress dashboard and readiness score.
Payment Information: If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment details are processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Automatically Collected Data: We may collect browser type, device information, IP address, and pages visited through standard analytics tools (Google Analytics).
2. How We Use Your Information

- To track your practice progress and generate readiness scores
- To process payments and manage subscriptions

3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication and database hosting
- Stripe: Payment processing and subscription management
- Anthropic: AI processing for Elite features (Resume Tailor, AI Answer Scorer, Case Generator, Story Builder). Content you submit to these features — such as resume text and behavioral stories — is sent to Anthropic's API to generate personalized outputs. Anthropic's data practices are governed by their Privacy Policy.
- Resend: Transactional email delivery (welcome emails, account notifications)
- Google Analytics: Aggregate usage analytics to improve the platform
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with security rules that restrict access to your own data. Passwords are hashed by Firebase Authentication — we never have access to your plain-text password. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
5. AI-Powered Features
CaseEdge uses Anthropic's Claude API to power Elite features including Resume Tailor, AI Answer Scorer, AI Case Generator, and Story Builder. When you use these features, the content you submit — such as resume text, job descriptions, and behavioral story inputs — is transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing. This processing is necessary to generate personalized outputs.
We do not permanently store your raw AI inputs (e.g., the full text of your resume or JD paste) beyond what is needed to generate and return your result. Saved outputs (e.g., tailored bullet points, generated cases) are stored in your Firestore account and are subject to the data retention rules described in our Terms of Service.

6. Your Rights
You may:
- Access and update your profile information from the Account Settings page
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
- Opt out of non-essential communications
If you are located in the EU/EEA, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (Firebase session management). We may also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how our site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Children's Privacy
CaseEdge is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 16, we will delete that information promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
